Becovic Residential Acquires Historic Andersonville Property, Introduces “The Quarters at Andersonville”
CHICAGO — September 25, 2026 — Becovic Residential has acquired the historic mixed-use property at 5154 N. Clark Street for $20 million, introducing the property under its new name, The Quarters at Andersonville.
Built in 1923 and occupying a full city block at the intersection of Clark Street, Foster Avenue and Ashland Avenue, The Quarters at Andersonville includes 81 apartments and 10 ground-floor commercial spaces. The property had been held by its previous ownership for more than 40 years.
The acquisition marks Becovic Residential’s entry into Andersonville and extends the company’s long-standing presence across Chicago’s North Side, particularly in Uptown, Edgewater and Rogers Park.
“The Quarters at Andersonville is a special addition to Becovic,” said Sal Becovic, President of Becovic Residential. “It has history, scale and, most importantly, 81 homes. We see our role as caring for this property and being a good neighbor to the community around it. Andersonville is a natural extension of our presence across the North Side.”
The Quarters at Andersonville
The new name reflects the building’s residential character and its place within one of Chicago’s most distinctive neighborhoods.
“The name The Quarters at Andersonville felt right because this building has been part of the neighborhood for generations,” said Tino Lukovic, Chief Operating Officer of Becovic Residential. “It has a sense of permanence and character that you simply can’t recreate. Our goal is to respect that history while making The Quarters an even better place to call home.”
Becovic plans to preserve the building’s historic character while making thoughtful improvements to the residential experience. The property is within walking distance of the Berwyn, Argyle and Bryn Mawr CTA Red Line stations, as well as Metra’s Ravenswood station.
Becovic Management Group, Inc. will provide property management services for The Quarters at Andersonville.
Essex Realty Group served as broker for the transaction. Financing was provided by Associated Bank, with Elizabeth Hozian handling the financing relationship.
