Becovic Residential Adds Two New Communities to Edgewater Offerings
Becovic Residential, a Chicago-based multifamily owner and operator, has added two apartment communities at 5718 N. Winthrop and 6134 N. Kenmore to their Edgewater offerings. The Winthrop House (5718 N Winthrop) was purchased for $10.25 million and The Kenmore Commons (6134 N Kenmore) for $7.25 million. The deals were brokered by Interra Realty’s Joe Smazal and financed by Scott Kalkofen from JP Morgan Chase. The properties will be managed by Becovic Management Group.
Built in 1929, The Winthrop House has 74 units consisting of 30 studios, 40 – 1 bedrooms and 4- 2 bedrooms. All units have been renovated and include modern kitchens with granite tops, in unit laundry, resident controlled Heat/AC and high ceilings. Additionally, the property has two elevators, indoor bike garage, fitness room, community patio and a stunning rooftop deck.
The five story Kenmore Commons has 40 units consisting of 17 – 1 bedrooms and 23 – 2 bedroom units. All units have modern kitchens with granite countertops, in-unit laundry and resident controlled heat/ac. The property also has elevator access, fitness center, bike parking and community patio and has 20 parking spaces underneath.
