Since it was opened in 2007, the down to earth baristas at The Common Cup have aimed to serve high quality food and craft coffee drinks to the best neighborhood in Chicago. For 12 years, Ruth and John Hoekwater provided a safe and inclusive place for Rogers Park community members to come together and enjoy good food and good company. In November of 2019, the shop was purchased by Entrenuity, a non-profit business dedicated to training and assisting entrepreneurs and is continuing what Ruth and John began so many years ago.

Everybody’s Coffee was formed as a place of welcome for everybody and to provide a space of connection and creativity, founded by a racially diverse group of women and men committed to helping our community through coffee, relationships, and resources. Everybody’s Coffee is partnered with Cornerstone Community Outreach, an amazing organization in Uptown that helps feed and house families and individuals experiencing homelessness in Chicago, and continues to seek knowledge and education about ways to do better, one cup of coffee and one conversation at a time.

The Factory Theater was formed by a group of artists who wanted to produce their favorite shows instead of waiting for someone else to. Most Chicago theater companies were formed for the same reason, but The Factory took it a step, or ten, further. The Factory creates their shows from scratch, often beginning with a script idea written on a bar napkin. Now in their 28th season, the formula continues to work–from writing workshops to the opening night bash, the process ensures that Factory shows are a unique experience that fits their exacting standards: Original, Bold, and Full-Tilt.
