Cudahy Library

Right on the lakefront of campus, you will find Cudahy, the favorite library of Loyola students. With a huge collection of books and little spots to nuzzle away and study, this library is a peaceful haven for those seeking a quiet escape from the city’s hustle. With incredible views and a relaxing environment, this spot is ideal for achieving academic excellence. 

Lewis Library

Another Library that is an excellent study spot is Lewis Library. With a modern feel, this open-concept library was built to help foster group work and collaboration. With many rooms to reserve, this is the perfect spot for you and your group to get together and study. Their website tells us that the library is home to the “criminal justice, economics, education, and social work collections.” and that “The Lewis physical collections comprise more than 250,000 volumes and 1,500 periodical subscriptions; online resources include hundreds of research databases, thousands of e-books, and over 35,000 journal titles.” 

Klarchek Information Commons

Loyola calls this next choice a “21st-century building that offers the latest computer technology and a team of library and computer experts to help students, faculty, and staff fulfill their information needs” and is one of the most modern and visited study spots on campus. Their website also says that Klarcheck has “ achieved silver-level certification from the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System, the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high-performance green buildings”. If you are going into the field of tech or need use of the most state-of-the-art technology, the Klarcheck Information Commons will become your go-to place to study and learn. Center for Student Success Cafe

If you’re the kind of student who prefers to study with a group or in a louder, more vibrant environment, the Center for Student Success cafe might be your best bet. Voted some of the best coffee on campus, let the aromatics of the brews sustain you through your studying with a casual social hangout mixed in with study breaks. 

Damen Dining – Vibrant Meeting Ground

Maybe a spot you hadn’t considered for studying but can make for an easy and tasty evening is Damen Dining Hall. Featuring many different types of foods, it’s the best place to study if you’re working through meals. Your friends can even come and join you – making the time you spend studying fly by. Open until 9 PM every night, this is also a perfect spot for late-night cravings after hours of taking notes. 

Connections Cafe

Another excellent study spot where you can fuel up for all the note-taking and essay writing is the Connections Cafe. Their blurb on Loyola’s website shows that they are located “ between the Information Commons and Cudahy Library” for those who might want to change spots halfway through their study session. It also features “ the picturesque view of Lake Michigan as a backdrop; Connection Café offers a full range of coffee, espresso drinks, and healthy snack options.”
