World Fair Trade Week: What’s Rum Got To Do With It? A Mixology Masterclass

May 18 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

The Chicago Fair Trade Museum is reopening in Uptown, and what better way to celebrate than sipping on delicious cocktails made with Chicago Cane Cooperative rum?

Join in for a mixology masterclass led by Chicago Cane Cooperative founder and distiller extraordinaire, Daniel Regueira. Gain cocktail connoisseur credentials while learning about the exploitative history of conventional rum production and discover how Chicago Cane Cooperative is turning things around with their worker-owned cooperative model.

Ticket prices: $10 or FREE for Chicago Fair Trade members (contact us for the discount code). Interested in becoming a Chicago Fair Trade member? Learn more and purchase your year-long membership as a ticket!

The class will start at 5:00. The reception/party will continue until 7:00.

This event is part of Chicago Fair Trade’s World Fair Trade Day Celebrations! World Fair Trade Day is an inclusive worldwide festival of events celebrating fair trade and its critical role in combating income inequality, exploitation, and climate change. Hundreds of celebrations will take place in May in over seventy countries. Chicago’s celebration is the biggest World Fair Trade Day event in the US. Check out our full calendar of events on their website.
