From the earliest days of settlement along the Ridge to today, taverns, corner bars and neighborhood pubs have been gathering places for Rogers Park and West Ridge residents and visitors. Discover some of our community’s historic bars on a 1.5 mile walk along Devon, Clark and Glenwood Avenues. Learn how battles over prohibition, dancing and movies shaped local bar culture as well as created the very boundaries of our two communities. Along the way, perhaps you’ll find a new place to wet your whistle or see an old favorite through new eyes, led by tour guide Stephanie Barto.
