Turn up the Volume inclusive Dance Party/Zumba and Yoga.Their vision is to connect people from diverse backgrounds through the authentic collective experience of music, dance and art. They create positive personal, social and global change by using the human expressions of music, movement and art as experiences that offer a common ground to connect and communicate.
TurnUp believes that creating accessible spaces to enjoy or express music and dance also creates a space to connect people in a real way that allows positive change to take place. It expands minds and hearts and motivates and activates people to be a part of something good. When folks from diverse communities take part in music and movement-based endeavors and take personal or social action in their communities as a result, then they will have succeeded.
Howard Street Makers Studio provides a safe space for creativity and healing.
Everyone is welcome to join during open studios where participants will explore different types of art mediums. Artists in residence will facilitate classes, community art workshops, spoken word/open mic, sip and paint, discussions and open art studio time with and for the community.
The space will offer participants access to supplies and guidance to make artwork or participate in yoga and other movement workshops.
